Clusters

Overlapping account archetypes showing who is carrying a conversation

A Cluster is an overlapping account archetype, such as Developer, Researcher, VC, or Trencher. A public account can belong to more than one Cluster. Clusters show which kinds of participants are carrying a conversation.

How to read Clusters

  • Membership. One account can belong to several Clusters, so the groups overlap.
  • Reach. Activity across more Clusters shows how broadly a story has traveled through different account archetypes.
  • Stance. Accounts may support, question, or oppose a story while contributing to its activity.

Where they appear

  • Chatter. On Projects and Topics, Chatter shows mention activity by Cluster over time.
  • Topic map. The Clusters page shows how live narratives connect to different account archetypes.
  • Intel. Cluster coverage shows which archetypes have picked up a development.

For developers

The current Cluster catalog and descriptions are available in the REST API Reference.
